Material descriptions need model-specific evidence

Material quality is one consideration when comparing products. The terms silicone, food-grade, medical-grade and body-safe should not be treated as interchangeable descriptions or as a guarantee covering the whole WM catalogue.

A product description should identify the selected model and the evidence supporting any material claim. This article does not establish that every WM product uses food-grade or medical-grade silicone.

Check what a material claim actually covers

For a food-grade or medical-grade claim, check the document, its scope and the material or finished product it identifies. A broad material name does not establish the properties of every component, coating or finished model. If the description and supporting information do not match, the claim remains unconfirmed.

Softness, texture, flexibility and durability are separate characteristics. A material label alone does not establish how a particular product performs or how long it will last.

Compare quality without assuming safety or lifespan

The original comparison between premium silicone and cheaper materials was too broad. Price and the word premium do not replace product-specific specifications, care instructions or evidence of consistency. Neither a higher price nor a softer texture establishes that a product is the safest option.

Review the selected model's material information and care limitations together. Do not transfer a claim from one model to another because their photographs or catalogue descriptions look similar.

Avoid unsupported market and business claims
